BD strategy for boutique law firms · Perth

Your firm does great work.
Let's make sure the right people know it.

Hi, I'm Ali. I've spent nearly twenty years in business development and marketing across professional services, much of it alongside law firm partners. These days I help boutique firms get clear on their visibility, their positioning and their BD, without needing to hire someone internally.

When firms come to me, it usually sounds something like this

"We should be doing more but no one has time" "Our partners aren't visible enough" "Referrals keep us busy but it's not a strategy" "We've been meaning to sort this out"
Where to start

Three ways we can
work together.

If any of those lines sounded familiar, that's where I step in.

BD Strategy

Five lenses on how your firm wins work.

Every plan I build looks at the same five things: visibility, positioning, relationships and referrals, credibility, and client experience. However different two firms are, these decide whether the right people see you, remember you, and send you work.

See how it works
  • 01 Visibility
  • 02 Positioning
  • 03 Relationships & referrals
  • 04 Credibility
  • 05 Client experience

A small number of firms also have me alongside them each month for ongoing BD and content support. I only take on a few at a time, so it stays properly hands-on. Ask if there's room →

The Content Engine

Most law firm content speaks to other lawyers. Yours could speak to your clients.

So much legal content is written for peers, when the people who actually hire you need something plainer and more human. The Content Engine takes your articles and updates, finds the insight inside them, and turns it into content that sounds like you and speaks to your clients.

And it's genuinely friendly to use. Whether you're a BD team of one, a practice manager who's somehow ended up with marketing, or a solo owner doing it all, there's no learning curve. You paste, you choose, it writes.

Hi, I'm Ali

Considered, elevated, and genuinely invested in your firm.

I've spent nearly twenty years in business development and marketing across professional services, much of that time alongside law firm partners and leadership teams. I know the culture, the hesitations, and the way clients choose who they trust with something important.

These days I work with boutique firms who want to be more intentional about their BD. Their visibility, their positioning, and the initiatives that bring in the right kind of work. When something needs doing rather than just deciding, I can help with that too. And I'll always follow through on what I say I'll do.

Questions

A few things people ask.

What can I choose to have reviewed?
One area: your LinkedIn, your website or your Instagram. Keeping it focused means the feedback is practical and clear.
Will you try to sell me something at the end?
No. The review is the whole point, and it's yours. If you'd like to talk about working together afterwards I'd love that, but it's entirely up to you.
What does BD strategy work look like?
It depends on your firm. Sometimes it's a visibility and positioning review across the partnership. Sometimes it's helping one partner build a BD plan around their network. Sometimes it's shaping an initiative, a seminar series, a referrer program, a referrer program, that fits how your firm truly works. We start with a conversation, and I'll be honest about what I think makes sense.
Do you work with all industries?
Legal and professional services firms, particularly boutique and solo operators. The work is grounded in what drives results in this space.
